People Tree hostel is a hostel which gets its name from a Pipal tree located within the hostel campus. It is considered amongst the best hostels in Dehradun. The Pipal tree is famous for providing shadow to the students of the hostel. The People tree Hostel just like this tree provides shelter to students who have come to get an education in the UPES campus located near the hostel.
The hostel has some great facilities. Administered under the able administration of Brigadier V. Nautiyal, this hostel has all the qualities of a top notch hostel. This hostel has some fabulous rooms which are under ambience of clear light. The rooms are double bedded with almirahs, table and chair with light system. The hostel has twenty four hours power back up facility. The best part of the hostel is the mess where healthy and delicious meal is cooked for the students.
A committee comprising of students has been formed which takes care of the food prepared. The idea behind forming this committee is to imbibe the quality of team work amongst the students. The hostel has twenty-four hours security system and is under strict vigilance of the administrators. All kind of bad habits and intoxicants are strictly prohibited. There is also a limited time frame within which the students can enter the hotel premises. One can see through the fact that since the administrator is a retired army man, he brings in the ethos of army life into the hostel.
There is a separate guest room where the parents of the students can come to visit. Last, but not the least all that can be said about the People Tree Hostel is that this is one hostel where children grow up into mature, independent individuals. This makes it one of the best hostels in Dehradun.
